Cane fields

We left Queensland and travelled down through Brisbane and Gold Coast via the motorway. We both hate that sort of traffic and driving so we were on the lookout for a place to pull over. They were few and far between. The first service centre didn’t have enough room for our car and van so I found a touristy farm and we headed for it. Got held up on backroads and roadworks, after half an hour fussing around we found the farm and it didn’t have room to park. We had to return to the highway via the roadworks. Grrr. The rain had started by then.

Just down the road was another service centre on the northbound lane so we did figures of 8 and finally parked in the MacDonalds car park and had morning tea and a break from driving ( Bob was driving all day poor thing). As we exited we headed towards Murwillumbah ( not Mullumbimby). Grr we ended up going over a narrow mountain road and through these cane fields. It’s usually beautiful (Gitama’s blips show it off well) but with rain we missed the nice scenery.

It was a long day and stressful. We are now in a community car park at New Italy where there are 8 vans and a kangaroo.  It’s raining.

The blip shows some scenery through the rain plus two I took last night which I wanted to share.
