Summer Nights!

The heatwave arrived! I managed a bit of varnishing while the water in the harbour disappeared. Evaporation, most likely. The beach was mobbed. I switched radio stations.... Radio 4: heatwave. Radio 2: heatwave. Radio Scotland: heatwave. Home to find the thermometer in the garden touching 30ºC.
What a joy to find the air actually warm - even when you’re out the sun. Like the Mediterranean. And so a perfect day for an evening sail. The wind which was very light earlier, became pretty brisk, so the sails had to be hauled down off Barnbogle Castle as we were wanting pretty much to hove to and enjoy a picnic. And in that fine sheltered place, that’s exactly what we did, before sailing back on the gennie as the wind dropped away. And it stayed warm!
