The Tweed at Berwick

Up at 6:30 to see bright sunshine and a light breeze. Wake up Rog! Let’s go. And go we did, gliding past the Lamb, Craigleith, North Berwick and almost reaching the Bass Rock. Unfortunately that was only 4nm and we’d another 31 to go and it was now 9am. On with the engine. The wind, initially westerly, strengthened and came right round to blow from the SE. How can that be?
Into the snug little harbour at Berwick, we went surrounded by Dutch cargo ships. And swans. So many swans. Out for a walk in the drizzle round the town walls. They’re huge! I’d no idea. What was that about?
Into a pub for some scran. Rog said it used to be a Wetherspoons but had changed hands. What a mysterious place. I think I should run away to sea.
