stuff

There was some serious stupidity in the day today.

But on the bright side, I got to discuss e-mobility (electrified transportation). I also will get to discuss sovereign wealth funds as a source of investment.

There is a Russian family demanding compensation for the death of a foster son. He's a foster son, not a biological son, so they aren't entitled, in Russia, to more than the cost of the coffin and gravestone. At some point during the interview the interviewer realized that the refrigerator had a sticker on it bragging about it's two year warranty - in Ukrainian. Their soldier had looted it.

There is another instance where a Russian soldier took a selfie of himself in an apartment he looted in Irpin. He took a selfie with a Polaroid and left it behind. The owner of the apartment thinks he took the picture, saw it came out of the camera black, thought it didn't work, and left it behind. The Ukraine's Minister of Digital Transformation Mikhail Fedorov thinks it is one guy. The press think it is another guy. But they have him and he faces 12 years for multiple thefts.

Ukraine intercepted a conversation between a Russian soldier and his wife. He complains about being sent to slaughter because of Ukrainian long-range weapons. "The woman then responded, saying he needs to fire back with a tank. But he said that the Ukrainians are too far away.
"What the hell. They start firing at you from three to four kilometers away. Where are you going to shoot from a tank?""
He's not the only Russian freaking out. Igor Korotchenko, a prominent Russian military expert, spoke during an appearance on a Kremlin-run telelviosn station about the new weaponry from the West. "The scale of additional Western arms deliveries will seriously complicated our success of conducting our special military operation."

The US is selling Poland 116 used M1 Abrams tanks. They are also buying 250 new Abrams tanks. In addition, the US has added 5,000 more troops in Poland and fighter jets to deter Russian attack.
British training Ukrainian recruits are impressed and have said they are highly motivated. The UK has a long history of supporting Ukrainian service personnel and has trained 22,000 between 2015 and 2022.
Or that is what the British say. The Russians say that there are secret Ukrainian bio labs turning the Ukrainian soldiers into monsters. There are Russian scientists, in Russia, calling out the lie because it is just so over the top.
