Sunny, but cold

It has been a beautiful sunny day in Auckland, with a top temperature of 14degC, and 5degC expected overnight. We had a lazy, relaxing morning, then I finished my work while hubby did some gardening.  This afternoon I had a Pilates class and following that we put up the weekend’s open home signs. We had a drink with Mum before she went to a buffet charity dinner in her retirement village.  We returned home, changed and caught a bus down to St Heliers where we had an enjoyable dinner at the Italian restaurant.

I took the two photos in the blip after hopping off the bus on my way to Pilates. The top photo looks north-west and the bottom photo looks east, back towards St Heliers. Such a contrast to the weather that has been experienced in the lower half of the North Island and in the South Island, where some houses on Banks Peninsular are still without power.  We are so lucky.

There are 8,728 new community cases today, and the seven-day rolling average is 8,913 compared to 9,994 last Friday. The number of people in hospital is 759, including 13 in ICU. Today another 26 deaths have been reported, bringing the total number of publicly reported deaths to 1,954 and the seven-day rolling average to 26.
