Shadow play

What a day! They say four seasons in a day, well we must have had five today. The morning started of bright and brilliant, not a cloud in the sky. I love the light at this time of year, strong shadows and dazzling highlights. Difficult to photograph, but I find it exciting seeing everything differently, shapes that only exist for a few minutes, and patterns that pass with the movement of the clouds. So this is my kind of photograph - light, shadow, mystery - taken this morning at the entrance to Old College on South Bridge. This afternoon we had a ten minute hail storm, and leaving the office the skies were full of spectacular bruised grey clouds with light bouncing through from the parts of the sky that were still bright and blue. Exhilarating.
