Gatekeeper Butterfly

Another warm day and overcast rather than sunny.
 
Today’s picture is of a Gatekeeper butterfly on a water mint flower. I am not sure why the water mint is flowering in this part of the garden, which is very dry; I usually only see them growing by the pond. The extra is the same butterfly and as you can see it has been badly damaged; it was still happily flying from one flower to the next.
 
The temperature at noon today was twenty-one degrees Celsius; cooler, but no rain so far.
