Sgwarnog: In the Field

Shadow Flag

It was a good day for shadows, and I liked the way this one crept across earth, path and turf to create the emblem for a flag. What may not be immediately obvious is that the turf is a wall, raising up at about seventy degrees from the path - that feature helped bring the shadow tree upright.

The sun also drew out a Small Tortoiseshell for my first campus butterfly sighting of the year. Visibility across the city was great too, with some fine views across to the moors.
