Burleigh

Back Blip - filling in a few gaps in my journal

Our Ramblers walk on Wednesday was in the Kinross and Loch Leven area. Mostly dry and a bit breezy. Our route included a short diversion to visit the ruins of Burleigh Castle, near Milnathort. This former town house was built in the late 15th and expanded in the early 16th century and was, according to the Historic Scotland website, the seat of the Balfours of Burleigh for over 250 before they lost their lands and the castle in 1716.

Like many Historic Scotland properties at the moment, access is restricted while they investigate the state of the masonry.
