Different Lives

Here we are, out beyond the city’s outskirts. Out to where my Mum and Dad first taught at nearby schools. Mining districts in those days. For it was the SK’s sister’s 60th, and on the following day her husband P would be seventy. So, for one day only, we’re all in our sixties. We enjoyed the experience.
Later, along to Vue for a live hook up with the National Theatre down south: Prima Facie starring Jodie Comer. Oh my word, it was just excellent. Utterly spellbinding. I felt no one in the audience moved for 90 minutes.
Home to just kick off the shoes and watch a Storyville: The Distant Barking of Dogs, that follows a year in the life of 10-year-old Oleg and his Grandmother in Ukraine following the start of the war in Donbas.
