Motherhood

The heatwave has subsided leaving us with a lovely summer’s day, so the daughter and I grabbed the minky and headed up to Balerno. There to meet the great-great-aunt. There’s a thing. And what a fine time we had, strolling around Malleny Gardens. We even saw horses. And horses’ poo! The daughter seems to be enjoying her week off work, for sure. In fact, I think she could quite happily dispense with work if it wasn’t for their need to have two working adults to keep a roof over their heads. The average house price is 65 times higher than in 1970 but average wages are only 36 times higher. Not difficult to see the consequences of that.
Later a run across town with the son, picking him up from his work and spinning him over to Porty and back for urgently needed medicinal supplies.
And then we were all ready to head to a gig. At Sneaky Pete’s! It was bloody cancelled, without notifying the punters and we’re £20 out of pocket. He’s not called Pete, either. He’s called Paul Cardow and some of his business dealings are well sneaky.
Only one thing for it. Off to Ardmillan for the regular wellness session.
