Small tortoiseshell

Finally, as I took Saturday's laundry out, I found butterflies, plural, on the buddleia. It seems I'm not the only one commenting on this year's absence of butterflies on their usual bushes; climate change is being blamed, so I was delighted to see three Commas, two Small Tortoiseshells and a peacock, as well as the Meadow Browns and Large Whites which have been fluttering above the grass and the vegetable beds for several weeks. I fear it may just have been a flash in the pan though, as only one Meadow Brown was visible this morning.
