Clouds Over Willow

The clouds looked very dramatic today as the weather closed in, promising some much needed rain overnight. Shooting in b&w really brought out the texture in the sky, although trying to balance the exposures for sky and land was tricky.

The light came from the left, backlighting the cloud on that side making it overly dark. And I wanted to lift the clouds on the right to show they were being illuminated, yet keep their undersides darker. So, a bit of dodging and burning required.
