Windmill 'Vento Vivimus', Hurwenen

The Latin name means 'We live from the wind' and was given to this mill during WW2 by a preacher living in the area.  The mill itself was built in 1875 to replace an older mill that had been built a bit prior to 1826.  That other mill was bought/owned by a Dutchman with Irish roots -- Willem Macleane.  It was destroyed during a storm in 1874.  Willem's son, Gijsbert Macleane, had this 'new' one constructed in 1875.

It is actually 'tucked away' behind a barn, and had it been facing the 'wrong way', I would have been persuaded to look for another and return here some other time.

Fabulous weather!  No MOOCking, just gaming and kitchen duties, and paying some attention to AW, who was stung by a wasp for the second time this week.  The first time was on his hand, after the beekeeper had left, which was last Monday or Tuesday.  He applied a cold compress to it to reduce the swelling.  His hand has improved a lot, so now the cold compress has to be applied to his neck.  This sting occurred at another part of the garden, so it was unexpected.  And then much later, he discovered yet another sting, on his chin, which thankfully didn't need any compress.  Frankly, I never knew AW's presence could be considered as 'threatening'.  :D)))

The Dutch lost to the French in the QF of women's football.  Oh, never mind, they will have a go next time again.  The Dutch cycling team, Jumbo-Visma, however, are definitely going to win the Yellow AND Green jerseys in this year's Tour de France, as well as the Balls jersey, if all goes according to plan.
