Gooseberry Chutney

It's not so much that we need chutney, there's plenty in the pantry, but more to preserve some of the gooseberries in a different and useful way.

This recipe comes from Allotment Gardener via a Google search for different recipes and includes onions (I used one red and two white), raisins and brown sugar which give a dark-coloured finish.

As with most chutneys, it will be allowed to mature before serving, while we plough our way through those made in previous years.
