One day at a time

Decay

Just a short walk outside Romaldkirk in Teesdale, County Durham (along the Teesdale Way footpath) you will find this substantial farmhouse and imposing but decidedly ill-looking tree. I do not know the story behind the farmhouse. If only the walls could speak. It would take a bulging wallet to bring this back from animal shelter to comfortable home.
In its shelter were two ewes, mother and daughter I suspect, enjoying the warmth of the sun and perhaps preparing for the deluge of rain we encountered on the journey home later. Then a further photo of the mighty Tees, making quite a noise despite being rather empty of water. It gives the remarkable wild flowers, who survive the torrents, time to show their worth.
