Arty Farty......

An early start to get everything fed before the chaos started.
The silage team arrived to chop and cart the grass that was cut yesterday. We do a one way system to avoid the tractors meeting on the single track roads,up through the village loaded so they aren't going as fast, then down the hill empty. Only problem was 3 sets of traffic lights thanks to the on going fibre optic laying.
I left them to it and headed next door for a wee rodeo to bring the in calf heifers in and treat them with fly pour on. The first one calved last night so tagged her calf too.
Back home and had to run Littlemiss into school for pipe band practice.
While I was waiting for her to finish I went for a wander round town. Decided to treat my self to brunch in Project Coffee in Bruntsfield ,a fry up,toast , marmalade and coffee. Was tasty, but a lot more expensive than the mart canteen at St Boswell's ! And not sure I fitted in with my work clothes and rigger boots.
Spotted this artist near Holy Corner. I thought his painting was very good so decided it would do for today's Blip photo .
Back home, hitched up the mower and knocked down another 20 acres of grass next door .
The silage crew finished by 5 pm. 98 acres lifted, the pit fairly full, the diesel tank fairly empty, and tomorrow's job will be sheeting the pit and humphing hundreds of tyres.
Worked out that once they had filled the 9 tractors carting in ,the chopper and the telehandler they had used £3K worth of diesel today.
The joys.....
