Beach

We’d decided on a beach day last night so got up and set to with the sandwich and picnic making. I had some dressed crab left over from yesterday so made another lovely crab sandwich for me….proper seaside fare!
Headed to Wells and this time the car park wasn’t full so we all managed to get in. Quick walk from the car park to the beach but the tide was going out and was literally miles further away. At first we thought we’d walk to it so those who wanted to could jump in the waves etc, but as we trekked on and on we realised we’d probably never reach it! Stopped near a wide bit of the creek to let the kids go into the water and we cracked open the picnic. All going well, although windy, until some clouds came over and we ended up all pretty cold. We decided to head closer to the beach huts as it might be more sheltered and by then the sun had returned so we enjoyed a couple of hours more of snoozing in the sun, with the kids joining a group nearby whose Dad was digging a seriously big hole with his garden spade! Lovely ….
Came home via Blakeney where we spent a some time (unsuccessfully!) crabbing, mooching around some of the shops, buying some yummy cakes in Two Magpies bakery and A&N nipped into the hotel for a pint and a cup of tea.
All dived into the hot tub with Pimms drinks when we got home, then Mt&H went out for dinner and A finished her jigsaw then we put the wee ones to bed (after reading nonsense Dog Man book which Mx liked to act out enthusiastically,) and had some egg fried rice and summer pudding for supper. Once again all very tired with the sea air so another early night.
Diesel and P saga continued. T went to collect Diesel (extra) but found him quite deteriorated since Saturday and after a conversation we decided that it wasn’t going to be possible to bring him back but instead should indeed leave him with the Dogs Trust……farewell old friend.
Meanwhile P seems to be emerging from the delirium but not yet clear what will happen next…..most likely to be a care home but no clear comms from the hospital about their thoughts……
