The Feast Day of Saint Samson.
Today we are celebrating having lived in this end of terraced house in Rishton for 33 years. It is a friendly neighbourhood and not a bad place to live. There are all the shops and amenities we need, good supermarkets, a pub that dates to 1753 and beautiful countryside and canal paths within walking distance. A friend and her husband are walking in stages, the whole Leeds Liverpool canal to celebrate turning 40 this year. They are recording their progress on Facebook having started during the heatwave. I admire them.
Today it is 16c, cold and overcast. I popped out to post a letter, ordering a khaki sweatshirt from Damart. I have been a customer of theirs for many years, as the clothing is made to last and is comfortable. The free loyalty gifts are useful too.
