Extravagant purchase

I used up courgettes from the garden and some tired red onions and a very tired red pepper plus some leftover Gorgonzola and some zaatar to have with pasta for our meal for tonight. It had to be soft food as I had a grim 45 minutes in the dentist’s chair getting sorted for a temporary crown.

We are feeling quite stressed about the repairs from the flood. The insurance says it will take weeks as they have not had the surveyor report and there are other intermediaries involved.

The family holiday - or rather - getting to it - is also far more stressful than expected due to the cancelled flights and uncertain trains.

I don’t think buying an unnecessary piece of holiday clothing is the sensible answer but I couldn’t resist these jolly palazzo pants.

#2 daughter and family go tomorrow from
Manchester and have a hotel in central Rome which costs less than the Manchester one. It means they can take the boys to the Colosseum for a 9am slot, get food shopping and take over the house in good time on Saturday. The rest of us will arrive late on Saturday or maybe not at all!
