Sedbergh

We decided to have a look at that part of the Yorkshire Dales National Park which is not in Yorkshire, but in Cumbria - essentially Sedbergh, Dentdale and related smaller dales. It’s not very far from where we are.

The first stop was Sedbergh. There are two things to say about it’s location. It is dominated to the north by Winders, seen here, the southernmost of the Howgill Fells. And it is dominated to the south by fee paying Sedbergh School and it’s surrounding playing fields. The school lies to my left here.

We had our lunch in the car park, which is down this road and out of sight to the right. We then had a short walk around. J hasn’t walked around any town streets since March 2020, and did find it a bit challenging. But she was OK.
