Circle

When I looked out of the bedroom window this morning the cattle seemed to be standing in a natural circle - no feed on the ground just grass.  Very unusual!  The spring under the wood that feeds two of the neighbouring farms with water is drying up and two households have no water upstairs ...... and they are not on the mains .....

R called by briefly with some whitebait he had caught off the Chesil Beach last night.  Took them down to the family and we had them for supper.  So sad, K's old Labrador died following a fit this evening.  Dear old dog she was so happy earlier on with a wagging tail but at least it was quick and the children were already in bed.  That's two well loved dogs that have departed within a few months of each other.  They both had had good long lives.

A hot day but T says the wheat on our farm is still not ready to be harvested while everyone else seems well stuck in.  It could be a good thing since the grain is probably not as pinched as the others'.
