Viva Mexico!

Long day. Nice walk in the morning past allotments and fancy houses. Then off to Gatwick. Through persistence we managed to find a lounge with space (and rather nice wine and snacks), though I actually spent most of my time in Boots, as is my habit.

The plane was fine, though I was stuck in plane sandwich hell - with a stubborn recliner in front, and a row of kids behind whose parents were sitting elsewhere and therefore unable to stop their kids jolting and hammering the seat back constantly. Still, the plan was not to sleep, so no harm done.

A slightly bizarre situation: there was an announcement to not eat anything with nuts in as there were allergy sufferers on the plane - fair enough. We discovered that one of them was across the aisle from us when an air steward came to explain that all the meals on the plane had nuts in, so the allergy people would have to sit in the crew area at the back of the plane while everyone else ate!

Thunderstorm when we arrived, and an excruciatingly long immigration wait. For anyone with normal 50 year old eyes flying to Mexico - take reading glasses as the print on the form is absurdly small!

A very expensive taxi to our apartment, convenience store found, pot noodle and beer for Mr B and now we are watching what I presume is bad Mexican TV. Having been up for 20 hours, I’m done in.
