Social Sailing

A race! The inaugural “crew helm race” as the Ladies Race has been consigned to the dustbin of sexist history. Whatever next. Not being allowed to use galley slaves? So we were in! A bit more wind than I’d have liked but we got round that course with m’lady gamely hanging on to the tiller for most of it. Into Aberdour with a very creditable time of 1:42:11 to the finish line, only 15 minutes behind the racing boats. The beers were cracked open. The BBQ was already fired up and the whole little town was in party mood with kids jumping off the harbour wall into the sea (the start of Aberdour’s Festival week, y’see).
And then, time to slip the lines and a delightful sail home for our little flotilla. I tell you, we were both knackered when we got back. I think I need more crew.
