River scene Kingston upon Thames

A good day to end our few days away. It didn’t auger too well to begin with as the hotel room was stiflingly hot, being on the top floor, and with the window open noisy with the petrolheads roaring on the road below. We had a fan which made it feel as if we were sleeping in a wind tunnel.

Breakfast turned out to be a nine event too as many items were unavailable owning your a “problem with suppliers” and equipment which was broken. We went out to the riverside and had a pleasant breakfast there. We’re asking for a refund.

The day looked up with breakfast. We walked to Richmond Park and then along tracks and byways through and around the park. A coffee and scone at Pembroke House sustained us part the way round. The Park was so very dry, tinder dry and despite overcast conditions there was a hot gusty wind. We did see some of the deer.

By then it was time to collect the luggage to catch the train to Victoria and from there to Bearsted. A wonderful 4 days away, we’re glad to be home.
