Great Crested Grebe

My great crested grebe pair were parenting a chick each this afternoon which means that they have lost one of the brood somehow.

Preening, snoozing and feeding on the lake I liked seeing this one amongst the waterlilies where it hunted for small fish for the youngster. 

Back from my Birthday treat to Kilworth House to see the open air performance of Half a Sixpence which was fantastic. Birthdays seem to come round far more regularly now!
