Lunchtime

I'd been hoping to try to get a decent shot of the little common darter in flight.  I have some nice clear in focus results, but the insect has somehow managed to cover his head with a wing in every one - a factor of its being side on at the time I think.  The end result of which is that I've still not managed to get one I'm happy with as yet.

However, as part of that little exercise I did manage to see the insect catch some lunch, which it landed on a leaf to gobble up.  The process didn't take at all long. Needless to say, there's much more detail available if you want to go large.
