Good morning!

Caught on camera…this wee deer came into the garden at 6.30am today. We are still trying to work out how she gained entry.

What we did learn from our visit to yesterday’s grand garden at Cloan House where deer roam freely is that the secret to successful gardening is to only plant trees, shrubs and flowers that deer do not like.

It sounds so obvious t why we didn’t think of it before. But out goes tulips, roses,  begonias and most annuals  plus many ornamental trees and shrubs.

Two of our neighbours have already abandoned attempts at gardening.
Or we get a dog.
