Compass Head

Compass Head is just a few hundred metres north of Sumburgh Head - and provides splendid views of both southern Shetland and the airport.

It's the highest point at the south end of the island as evidenced by the remains of observation huts from at least the Second World War (and possibly earlier) and by the profusion of telecommuncations and navigation paraphernalia associated with the airport.
