Lookig washed out!

We had more rain overnight ..... makes a change to be pleased to see it & not be moaning! Last month was the driest July since records began!

Noticed this Small Tortoiseshell on the Buddleia ...... it was the unusual colouring that caught my attention, so pale.

I've never seen one without the orange on the wings before!

I wonder what has caused it to lose the colour .... all the others I've seen in the garden have the normal colouring.

Maybe it stayed in the bath for too long! Lol

Yesterday's blip wasn't much of a mystery! Everyone guessed drawers of various descriptions .... it was actually our sideboard!
