Creake Abbey (and twenty-eight)

We woke to rain this morning but it was relatively short-lived so we took advantage of a break a bit before half ten to walk into Burnham Market down a hollyhock-lined cut. Mum and Bailey were parked up on a bench to people-watch whilst there was browsing and a couple of (bargain) purchases. We spent some time in a small but carefully selected bookshop but didn't make any purchases. Back down the road to sit in the garden for a while and then lunch.

This afternoon we have headed a short way down the road we arrived on to Creake Abbey - a former hospital and Augustinian priory. It was a very peaceful spot even with a few arrivals whilst we were there. More garden-sitting before tea with a significant rise in the temperature and then reading after tea with book no. 28 completed - one I have been saving for my holidays because I knew it would be a good one; it didn't disappoint. Turns out there is a Norfolk connection with the author having lived near Holt for many years.
