Memorial

This morning it rained in true Manchester style, by lunchtime it was brilliantly sunny, by the time that I finished (late today as I had some after hours work to do and also to get some extra hours in the "bank" as I have a pacemaker check on Friday) it was cloudy again.

Consequently it was a tram into MediaCity this morning, but a walk back to the hotel this evening.

On the way back I passed the Ontario Basin where these flowers and tributes have been laid. They are for a schoolboy who jumped into the water on the weekend before the record temperatures, he suffered from the shock of suddenly going from the hot air to the very cold water and, sadly, died at the scene. A sober warning to all but especially the younger people who think that it couldn't happen to them.
