Goalless

The first SPFL League 1 match of Season 2022/23 for Falkirk saw the Navy Blues play Montrose at The Falkirk Stadium.

Our record against Montrose last season was one draw and three defeats, so our opening game this season would be a good indication of where we were in terms of improvement or otherwise. Our League Cup campaign had been relatively successful - two wins and two draws - so hopes were high going into the League season. However, a goalless draw on Saturday afternoon left us none the wiser in terms of how this season might turn out.

The general opinion from Bairns fans on leaving the ground at the end of the match was, "well, that was a game we would have lost last season."
