Garden delights

Me and my husband (& dog) are on holiday in Angus, an area we don't know at all. We just got here two days ago and today felt like we were really on holiday again. Interestingly it's the first time we've been away without children since we became parents 25 years ago! It's taken a little bit of getting used to, even though it's so much easier and we have more space to ourselves now in our caravan!

These photos are from our visit today to a National Trust property - The House of Dun, near Montrose. I loved the flowers and shrubs in the Walled Garden, and the giant Gunnera (see extras) in the Woodland walk. The house is Palladian style I believe, built in the early eighteenth century. We didn't bother going inside though, as we're not keen on guided tours and there was enough to keep us happy outside. It turned out to be a lovely day weather wise, even though it had been forecast to be rain most of the day!
