A Good Job Done

We had an early start this morning as we wanted to strim and  rake the  wildflower meadow in our wildlife area, before it got too hot.
The extra shows the "before" scene and the main the "after" view, with three of our team. We wanted to remove as much of the rather invasive Hogweed, as possible,  before the seeds ripen fully and are dispersed all over the meadow. We cut off a lot of the Hogweed seed heads,  by hand, before strimming  and raking the area. There is a lot of Yellow Rattle in the meadow and  that seems to have already seeded itself, which is good. It is partly parasitic on coarse  grasses so we  encourage it  to grow there to weaken the grasses.
In the afternoon I had some admin and emails to catch up on.
This evening, we listened to the Prom concert on the  radio.  (We are already at Prom number 25!) It included some  unusual and  interesting  pieces: Kalevi Aho's concerto for Theremin played by Carolina Eyck, Vista by Kaija Saariaho, and  Shostakovitch's Symphony number 15 (his last).
