Secret Forest

There is a new area on the festival map this year, the 'Secret Forest', containing a Luke Jerram moon. Having been so underwhelmed by his Gaia recently on display in Oxford I've been ignoring it but our singing workshop was moved there this morning and I admit that a big plastic sphere covered in NASA data is much more impressive outdoors.

Highlights of the day:
- meeting up with a good friend from Bristol
- Kanda Bongo Man playing infectious soukous (we also went to a soukous dance workshop but the teacher was so good at dancing that he couldn't unpack it to explain or show how to do it).
- The Dhol Foundation
- Trash Kit - a good discovery
- Jasdeep Singh Degun

Sorry, everybody, I know it's shameful but we abandoned Gilberto Gil to go and dance under the trees to Tantz playing klezmer. I taught Secondborn how to do a circle dance on the spot (almost). By the time they finished we were far too awake for our intended early night - in preparation for a much-too-early start tomorrow - so we went to see what the Jerram moon was like at night (extra).

Oh wow! From way across the field the Secret Forest glowed like stained glass and we stayed much longer than we'd planned, in awe. Gorgeous.
