Flossmo

The colour purple

We were up bright and early this morning and arrived at Wisley before 9:30. Parking was easy and we were through the gate in no time. We walked around the gardens for a couple of hours with a break for a cup of something hot along the way.

There were still plenty of beautiful flowers to admire but a lot of dried out plants along the way too. One of the extras illustrates the winners; the other, the losers. It must be really difficult to keep such large gardens going in the current drought conditions. The raised vegetable beds were probably doing  the best but these were clearly being irrigated. I was very taken with the purple peppers (main blip) - a new type for me.

We left at about 11:30, just as the garden was filling up. We got onto the southbound A3 and could not believe the miles of queuing traffic heading north. An early start wins every time.

After lunch Mr Flossmo and I did some light housework and gardening. Although it was a bit warm for exertion it looks like it will only get warmer as this week progresses so it seemed sensible to get the jobs done.

This evening I watched Thirteen Lives on Amazon Prime. It's a film version of the events that took place during the Tham Luang cave rescue in Thailand four years ago. I thought it was nicely done; Mr Flossmo seemed less impressed.
