Higgledy Piggledy..

………………………dereliction in the Westfjords. Wet and wetter much describes the weather and the area very much reminded me of the fjord lands in New Zealand.

We’d obviously made good time overnight and when the alarm went off this morning we were already reversing into the dock at Isafjordur. We hastily donned some outerwear and headed up on deck to watch proceedings. Once properly dressed and breakfasted we headed ashore for an independent wander.

Being Sunday it was very quiet, some of the shops were open but not many. We had a good wander around town then along the bank of the fjord to the next hamlet where my dereliction was found. We turned and headed home at this point arriving back to the ship (extra) just as the heaviest rain descended and in time for a Sunday lunch. 12,000 plus steps in before noon, something of a record for us both!!

Thanks to Marlieske for hosting Derelict Sunday.
