As the saying goes ‘make hay while the sun shines’. Well, there wasn’t much sunshine but it was dry.

It’s been a long, long day. I was up early and had the ironing done by 8 o’clock. Then I checked the online banking. A direct debit I cancelled on 15th July went out of the account on 1st August. Yes, I did cancel the Netflix subscription online too.

Then I spent ages going round in circles with an online form. Another online notification site wasn’t straightforward either. So, after I’d been for a walk along the Under Loughrigg road I sat down and wrote two more letters instead.


A difficult week ahead. Promise I’ll turn comments on next weekend.
