Switchgrass

Not easy to photograph, especially in the wind. 

Two of life's mysteries were solved today.

1.  A wooden spoon over a boiling pot keeps it from boiling over because the boiling bubbles break on the cooler surface of the wooden spoon.

2.  Wing (vent) windows aren't installed anymore because cars are more fuel-efficient with all windows up, with or without air conditioning on. 

Now we know.
