The Birks Cinema

Off to Aberfeldy today, and arrived at the Birks cinema, built in 1935 and known for 'jeely jar' screenings and 'chummie' seats. It closed as a cinema in the Eighties and became an amusement arcade. Since 2005 locals have been working to reopen it as a charity, and it reopened on 19th April with a red carpet event. It's now in its second week of its new life and I'm in the cafe with KryptoMart, having a lovely latte as restful music plays. Today's films: Brave, Oblivion and Amour!
