Pitlochry Dam and Salmon Fish Ladder

KryptoMart and I are away this weekend to Pitlochry, and staying at the lovely Craigmhor Lodge. Once we had settled in we went for a wander in the charming Victorian town. We had a wander to the salmon fish ladder down by the River Tummell

The fish ladder is next to hydro power station and allows salmon to travel upstream during the breeding season. There is an observation booth which has a counter telling you how many fish have made it up the ladder, which is expected to be around 4,500 salmon between May and September. So far 17 have done it!

Just about to tuck into our Perthshire Platter, siting out on the balcony overlooking beautiful Perthshire woodland.

I hope everyone is having a good Saturday.
