Say " HI" to Nancy

My yoga teacher said this morning she took part yesterday in the annual Big Butterfly Count and reported she saw only 5 butterflies compared to 30 last year.
 
I did a 15-minute count in the garden and I only spotted 5. 
Has anyone else noticed a decline in butterflies this year?
 
Freya, our Chinese student,  had to return to Glasgow to sort out her flat as the ceiling was in danger of falling in. Water had come through because a student living in the flat above had left the bathroom tap running. 
We plan to keep in touch.
