While Len was undergoing a long spell of treatment as part of a medical trial, I went exploring. The taxi dropped me right at the end of the passageways to the basin on Gas Street.

When I got back, he was quite indignant that I'd skived off and left him to it.

Basil spent the day with Helen and David. He took a little while to settle but eventually cheered up, especially when their grandchildren came to visit. I was so grateful to them.
