The Flower Train

When I was a teenager, working here on the railway, one of the lady volunteers was known at Auntie Flower.   She was in some ways a larger than life character and along with her husband, gave days of volunteer service over the years.  If she was here she usually guarded the local horticultural society's annual train.   Their Floral Train became known as The Flower Train.  An extra pic as the train headed into the hills.

I volunteered to be the guard tonight, a turn which included the final afternoon service train.  So I have enjoyed two round trips today, both under blue skies but the evening special, well patronised, came back to Tywyn in the dark having enjoyed refreshments and live music on a balmy evening at Abergynolwyn.   It was almost 11pm by the time we had put the train to bed.

Before starting work mid afternoon I had finished building the greenhouse plunge benches.   It was 30C in there when I finished.   Very pleased with the benches, now to start putting them to use!
