Globe Thistle (Echinops ritro)

Our garden has large amounts of shade, which is wonderful in this hot weather.  It also allows for dark backgrounds when some of the flowering plants are in full sunshine.  Always good to isolate the subject.

Late afternoon I had a game of golf at Lilleshall Hall.  What a little gem of a course, mature tree-lined fairways and interesting holes.  Surprisingly green considering the weather we've had this summer.  A pleasure to play the course, just a pity my golf didn't live up to the conditions.
