Dürer Print

Oooh it was a day sent to try me.

First E-Mail this morning "How can I do this thing in the language that you're an expert in".

Do this I said.

Next E-Mail "I did it like this and it didn't work".

The code he had written it bore no resemblance to what I had written.  Code that I know works.

So I stepped him through the process.  Very slowly.  It's my field, I know what to do.

If he had let me see the code I could have fixed it in 5 minutes.  But no.  Much better to send me whiny e-mails every half an hour.

In the end I wrote a program for him to copy - it took literally 5 minutes.  Never heard a peep out of him afterwards.

Who knew I knew what I was doing?

I also had the misfortune to be loooking at IBM's webs(h)ite today.  This is a typical IBM sentence "If a DO instruction has a repetitor phrase or a conditional phrase or both, the group of instructions forms a repetitive DO loop. The instructions are processed according to the repetitor phrase, optionally modified by the conditional phrase."  I'm pretty good with Englisch but I have never seen the word "repetitor" in my life.  Neither has my dictionary.

I think I've had enough for today.  Why does Thursday have to pretend to be a Monday?
