Stuff and Nonsense

Citrus Swallowtail Caterpillar

This morning I met three of my schoolfriends for coffee again and we put the world to rights before it got too hot and we went back to our air conditioned cars!

Decided that I'd give the butterflies a rest for today on blip, even though we have some nice new species emerging today....well.....sort of....

This is the caterpillar of the citrus swallowtail butterfly, which is the only one that seems to have host plants to lay eggs on at the moment. The orange tree that it has laid eggs on has been covered in eggs, then teeny tiny caterpillars that look like bird poo(extra), and finally this one has reached it's 5th instar and has turned into this green monster :)  It's the only one so far but there are plenty of them to yet develop.

Tomorrow it will be back to butterflies I think as all I've been doing most of the day is trying to stay cool and watching the European Games again.
