The Parasol

Ok then - here's the parasol that I bought today. I'm guessing Mourning Parasol but who knows. I'm trying to convince myself that it's real - in fact I have no reason not to think that it's the real thing - the stallholder is a local who does various antique fairs around the place and obviously believes it to be real.

It smells right, looks right - it's just the fantastic condition that is starting to worry me - just the expected wear marks on the shaft and tip and a small rip in a bit of the lace. I'll have to see if I can find an expert to look at it for me!
