Between fen and mountains

Third time lucky

After a couple of failed private attempts over the past couple of days, the ringers from Saint Paul's Cathedral were successful in ringing their peal of 5040 changes which took them almost exactly three hours. The exhibition was also a great success with several hundred people from the village and further field attending. Refreshments were provided and the technical explanations were available on the display posters. Several of us circulated to chat to those attending and explain what was going on. People seemed genuinely interested and impressed. The local television camera crew came and there should be a report on the regional news bulletin tomorrow and it may be picked up by the national news as well. The ringers went off for a well earned drink as they had found it very hot work. They will return to join us for a practice at 5 pm.
